Ankeny WRA Pump Station Improvements

The Des Moines Wastewater Reclamation Authority (WRA) took over the operation of the City of Ankeny’s wastewater treatment facilities to provide a connection point to the WRA’s interceptor system and provide equalization and pumping for peak, wet-weather conditions. The WRA hired HR Green to provide a condition assessment of the facilities and recommend improvements to provide maintenance and rehabilitation, replace components that have exceeded the useful life, integrate the operational and control system into the WRA’s SCADA system, and bring the pump station improvements up to current Code requirements.

HR Green provided design, bidding, and construction-phase services to replace the climbing bar screen at the headworks, refurbish the existing pumps and motors, modify and replace portions of the piping system, and update the HVAC and building egress to conform to the most recent Code revisions. The pump station improvements project is completed.
