Texas SH 288 and FM 518 Interchange Reconstruction

HR Green provided construction management and inspection services for the interchange reconstruction of the SH 288 and FM 518 interchange in coordination with TxDOT. The project, part of the $97 million Brazoria County Expressway, cost $17 million and was completed in 2020.

HR Green managed the reconstruction of the main lane bridges on SH 288 over FM 518, the widening of FM 518 from Business Center Drive to Smith Ranch Road, the widening of the access ramps leading to and from the main lanes of SH 288, construction of retaining walls, storm sewer installation, landscaping and erosion control, roadway signage, and traffic signal installation.

Prior to the interchange reconstruction activities, the HR Green team reviewed the project for utility conflicts and helped facilitate the relocation of all utilities without impact on the schedule. With multiple adjacent projects, HR Green took the lead in establishing a communication chain that was adopted for the County’s overall program. HR Green’s process kept stakeholders informed of major construction activities.
