HR Green’s Ed Barrett Joins the ASCE Infrastructure Report Card National Policy Group
HR Green is pleased to share that Ed Barrett, HR Green’s Broadband President, was named a member of the ASCE Infrastructure Report Card National Policy Group. The American Society of Civil Engineers, founded in 1852, is the country’s oldest national engineering organization and represents over 160,000 civil engineers.
As advocates for our national infrastructure, ASCE has issued a Report Card for America’s Infrastructure since 1988. The Report Card for America’s Infrastructure examines current infrastructure conditions and needs, assigns grades, and makes recommendations for how to improve 17 categories of infrastructure.
The ASCE Infrastructure Report Card National Policy Group assesses and advocates for the state of the nation’s infrastructure including:
- Evaluating and grading infrastructure categories
- Researching and analyzing the current state of infrastructure and identifying trends, challenges, and issues
- Developing policy recommendations
- Advocating and outreach based on findings and recommendations
- Public education related to critical needs for improvements
“HR Green has been helping communities solve the digital divide for many years,” said Ed Barrett, HR Green Broadband President. “Including broadband as a chapter in the 2025 report reflects a growing awareness of broadband as a critical part of American infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to give back and help make an impact on the national discussion.”
