Zaki Ali, PE, is a Senior Engineer for HR Green’s Water and Wastewater practice.

His background includes work on water and wastewater treatment facilities, power generation plants (including coal, gas, and nuclear), oil refineries, and commercial and industrial structures.

At HR Green, Zaki supports municipal and private clients by leading structural design efforts for water and wastewater infrastructure. His expertise spans reinforced concrete, structural steel, and masonry systems, with a strong focus on structural condition assessments, developing repair recommendations, and delivering practical, cost-effective solutions. His project experience includes concrete containment structures, ground storage tanks, digester complexes, pump stations, pipe supports, equipment framing, and floodwall design.

Zaki’s technical capabilities include structural analysis and design, condition assessments, repair and rehabilitation strategies, and construction support for complex infrastructure projects. He is known for his attention to detail and ability to deliver reliable structural solutions in demanding environments.

Zaki Ali earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago, as well as a Master of Science in Structural Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology at Chicago. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
