He has led preliminary and final design for a variety of bridge rehabilitations and replacements, including the development of plans, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, and construction-phase services. Tony has served as Project Manager, Engineer of Record, and Structural Engineer on multiple IowaDOT Unlimited Bridge On-Call contracts (2014, 2018, and 2021), supporting a wide range of projects for the Bridges and Structures Bureau. His work includes bridge concept statements and plans, standards updates, and the development of computational tools, along with full responsibility for scope, budget, schedule, and client coordination.
Tony’s municipal experience includes leading major bridge rehabilitation and replacement projects for the City of Des Moines and City of Waterloo. His work features complex staging to maintain traffic, multimodal enhancements, and coordination with key stakeholders. Notable projects include the 2nd Avenue Bridge rehabilitation, reopened in Spring 2023, and multiple bridge replacements incorporating modern design and aesthetic elements.
Tony is recognized for delivering practical, cost-effective structural solutions while successfully managing projects through design and construction. He completed his BS in civil engineering at Iowa State University.
