As part of HR Green’s ongoing commitment to helping communities leverage Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) funding for brownfields assessments and cleanup, the company announced today that it has helped the city of Waterloo, IA secure two more EPA grants totaling $400,000. Since 2000, HR Green’s efforts have secured for the city a total of $2.65 million in grants and loans.

HR Green, a professional engineering and environmental consulting firm, has assisted the City of Waterloo, Iowa in transitioning two declining commercial properties into an exciting reuse project. Clearing a former dry cleaning operation for redevelopment helped advance the construction of a $3 million Teen Center by the Boys and Girls Club of the Cedar Valley.

Better drinking water will flow to customers of the Amana Society Service Company, provider of water and electricity in and around the Amana Colonies. The company will be getting a low interest loan from the State Revolving Fund to address a number of drinking water issues.
