Will County Adult Detention Facility

HR Green provided civil/site engineering and surveying services for the design and construction of a 600-bed addition to the existing Will County Adult Detention Facility. The facility consists of residential, administrative, medical, dietary, recreational, video visitation, and support facilities, with site access, parking, and lighting on a 37-acre site located in downtown Joliet, Illinois.  Engineering services included design of utility extensions, water distribution, storm and sanitary sewer, as well as preparation of easement documentation and permitting.

The Will County Adult Detention Facility project also included the design of loading dock expansion, site grading, stormwater management facilities, erosion control, and improvements to Marion Street. HR Green assisted in permitting for utility crossings with the Illinois Department of Transportation and building/site permits with the City of Joliet which included calculations of the sewer tap-on fees for the facility. Like many HR Green projects, this project was completed on time and within design/construction budgetary constraints.
