HR Green provided construction engineering and inspection services for the construction of four direct connectors at the SH 249 / SH 99 interchange. The $92 million project improved mobility in the region with a more efficient connection between the Grand Parkway (SH 99) and Tomball Tollway (SH 249).

The four bridges range in length from 2,000 to 5,000 feet and have 18 to 45 spans per bridge, resulting in over 550,000 square footage of bridge deck surface. They are supported by 57- to 74-foot tall concrete columns constructed on drilled shafts of up to 95 feet in depth and having a diameter of up to 8 feet. The bridges have 33,454 linear feet of Prestressed Concrete U-Beams in addition to 56,464 linear feet of Spliced Concrete, Curved, Post Tensioned Prestressed Concrete U-Beams.

The Grand Parkway and Tomball Tollway project also includes the construction of over 70,000 square feet of MSE Retaining Wall, four traffic signalized intersections, roadway lighting, ITS elements, including CCTV cameras, Dynamic Message Signs, MVD, fiber optic installation, and toll plaza modifications.
