ImOn Communications is advancing the next phase of its fiber-to-the-home network expansion in northeastern Minnesota. Building on a long-standing partnership with ImOn, HR Green will provide field collection, easement research, GIS-based engineering, and fiber design services for the Duluth Phase II project.

The project will move ImOn from network planning to construction-ready designs for an underground fiber network. HR Green’s work includes developing service boundaries and fiber distribution routes, conducting field walkouts, and researching utility easements. The team will also validate service addresses and prepare engineering documentation to support future construction.

Detailed field verification will help refine the network design. HR Green will assess proposed routes to document site conditions, utilities, property characteristics, and potential conflicts. Address records will be verified in the field to identify serviceable properties and establish accurate fiber counts throughout the project area.

Using field data and mapping resources, HR Green will develop GIS-based designs for the fiber network. These designs will identify conduit routes, splice points, service drops, structure locations, and other infrastructure needed to connect homes and businesses. Utility easement research will further support route development and project mapping.

Throughout the design process, ImOn will review proposed routes through HR Green’s web-based viewer, allowing comments and revisions to be incorporated before final documents are completed.

Through field verification, GIS engineering, and detailed design documentation, HR Green is helping ImOn turn network expansion plans into buildable fiber infrastructure that supports broadband growth across Minnesota. The project reflects a shared commitment to expanding reliable connectivity in the communities ImOn serves.
