HR Green Welcomes Brynhildr Halsten as a PLA Project Manager

HR Green is pleased to announce that Brynhildr Halsten, PLA, has joined the firm’s Colorado Springs office as a Planning and Landscape Architecture Project Manager.

Brynhildr is a licensed Landscape Architect with over 12 years of experience in parks, open spaces, trails, and natural resource master planning for federal and municipal agencies. She also has a background in residential and commercial entitlements, including public-private partnerships such as Weidner Field in downtown Colorado Springs. Her projects are developed with technical insight and practical understanding to create solutions that are innovative and financially viable.

As a Project Manager, Brynhildr’s primary responsibility focuses on elements involved with the client and project team relationships, such as contractual obligations, expectations, quality of service, and, most importantly, clear communication with all parties. In this role, she serves as the “ambassador” between the client, consultants, and the design team.

The day-to-day responsibilities are to:

  • Lead planning and landscape architecture projects within Colorado and out-of-state
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets
  • Coordinate project activities and ensure that all project phases are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues, and develop contingency plans as needed
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior management
  • Lead project team meetings and ensure that all team members are aligned with project goals and objectives

Brynhildr earned a Masters in Landscape Architecture with a focus on Regional and Community Planning from Colorado State University and a B.S. in Biology with a focus on Natural Resource Management from the University of Illinois. She is a member of the Colorado Springs Chapter of the Housing & Building AuthorityAmerican Planning Associationand American Society of Landscape Architects and is a Licensed Landscape Architect.
