Girls Exploring Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (GESTEM) is an exciting event designed to inspire middle school girls by showcasing the diverse career opportunities available in STEM fields.
Through interactive workshops and meaningful engagement with engineering professionals, participants gain hands-on experience and valuable insights. This year’s GESTEM event took place on May 21st at the Denver Auraria Campus. GESTEM is a completely free event for students and relies on the support of corporate sponsors, community partners, and volunteers.
Representing HR Green were Kristine House, Theresa McMunn, and Abbey Culig, who volunteered their time and expertise to connect directly with students. The team guided participants through interactive exercises designed to demonstrate real-world applications of civil engineering and land development.
“Volunteering at GESTEM is always an energizing experience,” said Kristine House. “We love showing students how engineering can shape the world around them—and how they can be part of it.”
HR Green is proud to support initiatives like GESTEM that empower young women, promote diversity in STEM, and help build the future talent pipeline.
