The Town of Monument and Triview Metropolitan District have selected HR Green to develop a joint Area Transportation Plan to guide future transportation improvements. The plan will evaluate the current transportation system and recommend priorities for future improvements and investment.
The selection builds on HR Green’s longstanding traffic-engineering relationship with Triview Metropolitan District, which encompasses a significant portion of the Town of Monument. That deep familiarity with local infrastructure, travel patterns, and community priorities gave the Town of Monument confidence in HR Green’s ability to deliver a comprehensive and coordinated transportation plan that serves both jurisdictions effectively.
HR Green will assess how the transportation system functions today, including traffic operations, safety performance, and access to key destinations such as schools. Findings will inform a Major Streets Plan and guide future transportation policies, design standards, and emergency access planning. Planning will also identify ways to improve walking, biking, and other non-vehicular travel.
Public engagement will play a key role in shaping recommendations, giving residents multiple opportunities to provide input and review preliminary findings. Coordination with El Paso County, the Colorado Department of Transportation, the City of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments will help align local transportation goals with regional planning efforts.
The team will also assess pavement conditions and develop a 10-year improvement and maintenance plan. A prioritized implementation strategy will help connect recommended projects with future funding opportunities and long-term capital planning. The final plan will provide a transportation roadmap, safety recommendations, and supporting GIS data for future planning efforts.
The completed plan will give the Town of Monument and Triview Metropolitan District a clear roadmap for maintaining roads, prioritizing improvements, and planning for future growth.
