HR Green’s Colorado Springs team recently joined HBA Cares, the charitable arm of the Housing and Building Association of Colorado Springs, and the Fountain Creek Watershed Flood Control and Greenway District for the annual Creek Week Cleanup, a major regional effort to restore and protect local waterways. As Colorado’s largest watershed-wide cleanup event, Creek Week unites hundreds of volunteers who dedicate their time to collecting trash and debris throughout the Fountain Creek Watershed, which stretches from Palmer Lake to Pueblo.

By volunteering alongside HBA Cares and other community partners, HR Green employees contributed to tangible environmental improvements while demonstrating the firm’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and civic engagement. Their participation reflects a broader company focus on projects and initiatives that protect the environment and improve the communities where employees live and work.
“Our team was proud to roll up our sleeves and take part in Creek Week,” said Colleen Monahan, HR Green’s Regional Director of Land Development for Colorado. “At HR Green, one of our key services is channel design to mitigate erosion and create more developable space for landowners and developers, so participating in this cleanup aligns perfectly with our mission. Working alongside my colleagues and volunteers reminded us that even small efforts, like collecting litter along a trail, have a big impact on the health of our local environment and the long-term sustainability of our waterways.”
The 2025 cleanup marks the 11th annual event, continuing a legacy of stewardship and collaboration between local organizations, municipalities, and residents to help keep Fountain Creek a thriving ecosystem for years to come.
