HR Green Announces Jason Poppen as Next CEO
HR Green, Inc. (HR Green) announces the appointment of Jason J. Poppen as the organization’s next CEO, effective January 1, 2019. Jason Poppen will succeed current CEO Steven Heyer, PE, who is retiring in April 2019 after a transition period.
Heyer is pleased with the Board’s appointment of Poppen. “Jason Poppen is an excellent choice as the next CEO of HR Green. Jason has proven his leadership abilities in every role he has had with the company,” explains Heyer. “I have the utmost confidence in Jason and know that the company will continue to prosper under his guidance. This will be a smooth transition for our clients and our company.”
Poppen’s appointment is the culmination of over two years of effort by the Board of Directors for CEO Succession.
“I am excited to join the ranks of others who have led this company in its 105 year history,” said Poppen. “I’m looking forward to working with everyone at HR Green to expand our footprint, develop new businesses, and to never lose sight of the great opportunity to partner with our clients to build communities and improve lives. As CEO, one of my key objectives will be to focus on investing in our employees for their continued growth and success which in turn means greater success for our clients and our company.”
Poppen, originally from Illinois, joined the firm in 2002. His career has spanned both the private and public sectors. This experience gives him a unique perspective and an ability to anticipate challenges for the firm and its clients. He has provided leadership in multiple areas of HR Green and supported growth initiatives and strategic investments, recently guiding the firm’s strategy in the Houston, Texas market where he currently resides. Most recently, he has served as President of the Transportation Business Line. Poppen has served on the firm’s Board of Directors since 2013.
