Ken is nationally known for his industry knowledge on Smart Meters and Smart Grid. In this role, he will work directly with clients to assess their current fiber and broadband circumstances, develop a broadband vision and strategy, and assess financial costs and feasibility.  Ken will also drive approved projects through the Design and Build phases and into operations mode, if feasible and determined to be the best strategy.

“Ken’s experience with Smart Grid and electric providers expands the already strong base of broadband talent within HR Green,” said Edward Barrett, Senior Director & Practice Leader – Fiber & Broadband Services. “We believe this will help us continue to provide communities and electric providers with more holistic solutions to their challenges.”

Prior to joining HR Green, Ken was National Business Development Manager at NewCom Technologies where he was involved in the design, engineering, and project management of many miles of telecommunications plant, including thousands of miles of lit fiber.  Before joining NewCom, Ken was the Business Manager and Project Manager for Moore Utility Construction (a fiber construction company).  In those roles, he was involved in bidding, billing, purchasing materials and making sure the fiber projects went smoothly.

“I am excited to join the HR Green team and we share a belief that access to broadband really helps build community through education, health care, economic development and the ability for youth and seniors to stay in their communities,” said Demlow.

Ken graduated from Franklin College in Indiana with a BA in American Studies.  He has authored several articles on fiber best practices and economic development strategies associated with municipal broadband.  Ken has also presented on Smart Grid, economic development and fiber projects at national and regional trade events.
