HR Green Chosen for Master Transportation Planning Study of Davison County, South Dakota
HR Green, Inc. has been chosen by the South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT) in conjunction with Davison County, and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to perform a master transportation planning study of Davison County, South Dakota.
The Master Transportation Plan will identify the existing and future needs to the transportation network and prioritize maintenance and improvement projects to continue to serve the local community and freight network. The Master Transportation Plan is intended to be a living document that can be used as a blueprint, or “road map” to accommodate the interests or desires of private land developers, elected and appointed local officials, and members of the traveling public. It will provide the tools needed to further promote Davison County as a livable and sustainable community well into the future.
Principal and public outreach will be led by Bill Moran, South Dakota Regional Transportation Manager at HR Green. Bill has contributed to the planning, design and construction of streets, highways, airports, commercial developments, stormwater management projects, water, and wastewater systems. In addition, he contributes to the development of public awareness and education surrounding projects.
Project Manager will be Jon Weigland. Jon is experienced in progressive transportation engineering. Jon has been involved in transportation projects from planning through construction engineer. Engineering experience includes: roadway design, traffic operational analysis, construction inspection, environmental studies, contract administration, planning, safety, transportation research, and work zone safety and mobility. Jon also contributes to the development/implementation of project-specific outreach plans.
