ACEC/Minnesota Honors HR Green Employee with Emerging Leader Award
HR Green’s Bridget Osborn, EIT is the 2014 recipient of The Emerging Leader Award, presented May 15 by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Minnesota (ACEC/MN). This Award recognizes an ACEC/MN member still in the early stages of their career who has already contributed significantly to the organization. The Membership Committee and Board focus on fostering young professionals to address the shortage of engineers in the field.
Why was Bridget selected? Kristine Cassidy, Assistant Executive Director, ACEC/MN said: “The board felt she has been very active this year, encouraging young professionals to get involved with ACEC, and she deserved to be recognized.”
In the words of her colleague, Doug Tholo, PE, President of the HR Green Energy Business Line, “Bridget’s enthusiasm is infectious. She is a hard worker, engaged and chairs the Emerging Professional Committee.” Doug is a board member and past president of ACEC of Minnesota.
An HR Green employee for 4 years, Bridget works as a Water Resource Engineer, experienced with watershed characterization and modeling, stormwater analysis and best management practices (BMPs) design, GEOPAK Drainage, as well as stormwater permitting. Bridget has also completed multiple brownfield redevelopment projects including Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments (ESAs) as well as soil and groundwater sampling events.
Besides holding two Bachelor of Science Degrees in Geology and Geological Engineering, Bridget is certified 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) trained, an Engineer In Training (EIT) and is a recognized specialist in soil erosion and sediment control, certified as a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) professional.
