HR Green has worked with the City of Sioux Falls on design and construction of several lift stations and even eliminations of other lift stations. These projects improve maintenance access, functionality, standby power, and safety, and to provide for future growth of the city.

HR Green has completed several projects over the past twelve years evaluating and upgrading the City of McHenry’s Central Plant, South Plant, and Sanitary Sewer System. Since 2007 this work has been leading up to the elimination of the aging Central Plant.

The Des Moines Wastewater Reclamation Authority (WRA) took over operation of the City of Ankeny’s wastewater treatment facilities to provide a connection point to the WRA’s interceptor system and provide equalization and pumping for peak, wet-weather conditions.

This project consists of a new lift station and associated gravity and force main interceptors that will allow phase-out of the existing L27 lift station. HR Green began detailed design work when a site had been selected in Oakes Park in Hopkins.

The purpose of the lift station and sewer main project was to eliminate an existing siphon under Vince Bayou and to reduce the flow to the existing West Pitts Lift Station to more effectively convey the wastewater flow from the service area.

The Des Moines WRA maintains a vast wastewater collection system with the Westside Equalization Basin and Pumping Station being the system’s largest wastewater pumping facility.

This project upgraded the largest wastewater pumping station in the City of Des Moines. The project included installation of new pumps, bar screens and piping, electrical instrumentation and controls, new sewer forcemain, and structural modifications to the existing building.
