HR Green, Inc. (HR Green) has received two Engineering Excellence Awards from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Illinois. The awards competition recognizes projects of engineering achievement by Illinois consulting engineering firms. Entries are judged on the basis of engineering excellence, the degree to which the client’s needs are met, and the benefits to the public welfare.
The Fox Valley Branch of the American Public Works Association (APWA) awarded HR Green, Inc. (HR Green) two 2018 Project of the Year Awards in the Environmental category.
EPA Section 319 funded Carpenter Creek Stream Restoration and Flood Reduction Design/Build Project broke ground on Monday Oct. 12, 2015. A Design/Build team of HR Green, Inc. and Applied Ecological Services, Inc. was chosen by Carpentersville, IL for this unique multi-use federally funded Project.
In many communities, the urban environment and human intervention have impacted our natural streams and rivers. Impervious surfaces such as roads, parking lots and buildings take away areas where rainfall would normally be slowed down, spread out and soaked into the ground. Further exacerbating the problem, streams in urban areas are often straightened or channelized to make more room for development.
