Quaker Oats Flood Protection

The Quaker Oats production facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is situated just north of downtown Cedar Rapids on the east bank of the Cedar River. Like many other businesses in the City of Cedar Rapids Quaker Oats was directly impacted by the Flood of 2008. Rising flood waters overtopped the existing flood protection and inundated the entire property causing significant damage and halting production.

Sullivan Road Bridge over the Fox River

The Sullivan Road Bridge is only the second new bridge built in Kane County since the early 1970s. The bridge is a major crossing over the Fox River, connecting Illinois Route 25 on the east side of the river to Illinois Route 31 on the west side of the river.
