The Illinois Association for Floodplain and Stormwater Management (IAFSM) recently appointed HR Green’s Ajay Jain, PE, CFM, to its Board. As a member of the Board, Ajay will also be chairing the Inter-Organization Committee, charged with assuring regular communication between IAFSM and other closely-related professional organizations.
The Elevator Safety and Regulation Act (225 ILCS 312) was established in January 2003 to provide public safety to riders of conveyances. Its implementation happened in May 2007. Prior to the Act, each local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) enforced public safety through their adopted building code. In many areas of the State, no enforcement occurred.

Manik Mitra, PE, CFM, CPESC, of HR Green, Inc. (HR Green) was recently elected as Secretary of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) ASCE Houston Branch. Mitra has been an active member with ASCE for nearly three years. In 2016, Mitra become the Chair of Water Resources group. Due to his continuous involvement with local community and ASCE, they offered him the Secretary post for August 2017 to July 2018.
