Waterloo Brownfield Redevelopment

HR Green has secured 14 EPA Brownfields Grants for the City of Waterloo since 2000 totaling $2.65 million. These funds have helped inventory, characterize, assess, and cleanup numerous underutilized sites including a former construction machinery company. HR Green prepared the plans and specifications for asbestos abatement, building demolition, and the subsequent site cleanup along with oversight of the activities and assisted the City in enrolling the site in the IDNR’s Land Recycling Program. The City recently opened a new $7.4 million Public Works facility on the former brownfield site.
