HR Green Secures $1.34 Million in FY23 EPA Brownfields Program Funding for Clients
HR Green is pleased to announce its municipal grant writing services assisted the City of Waterloo, IA, City of Oskaloosa, IA, and Village of Richton Park, IL in obtaining EPA Brownfields Program funding. The federal dollars will assist in transitioning blighted properties plagued by potential contamination into community assets that expand the local tax base, create jobs, stabilize declining neighborhoods, and protect human health and the environment.
- City of Waterloo, IA ($642,400)- Funds will cover asbestos removal costs at the former Rath Packing Plant. Once abated, the City will demolish the 7-story, 750,000 square-foot structure for future redevelopment opportunities.
- City of Oskaloosa, IA ($300,000)- The funds allow the City to assess, characterize, and conduct cleanup planning on historical former mining operations located on the eastern side of the community.
- Village of Richton Park, IL ($400,000)- The funds allow the Village to assess, characterize, and conduct cleanup planning on a distressed commercial node centered on the intersection of two major roadways and a commuter rail station.
