HR Green’s Matthew Brua Elected President of ASCE South Dakota Section

Matthew Brua, PE, of HR Green, Inc. (HR Green) was recently elected President of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) South Dakota Section. Brua has been an active member since 2007 and has participated heavily in the ASCE South Dakota State University Student Chapter. Due to his continuous involvement with local community and ASCE, they offered him the President post starting in September 2017.

Matthew Brua, PE, of HR Green, was recently elected President of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) South Dakota Section.

“Matthew has worked diligently with this organization for over 10 years and we are proud and honored to have him elected to this position to help our local South Dakota communities.” said Brua’s manager, Craig Lauritzen, PE, HR Green.

Matt brings extensive project management, roadway design, and construction administration experience to HR Green’s Transportation Business Line in the Sioux Falls area. His involvement with the ASCE South Dakota State University Student Chapter includes participation in various competitions, attending chapter meetings, social activities, and national and regional conferences. Brua has also been a guest speaker to students discussing the life of an engineer.

Before coming to HR Green, Matt served as a Design Engineer at MnDOT District 8 for three years, reviewing and signing plans for a variety of projects. Along with being a Design Engineer, Matt also served as a Consultant Project Manager. The projects Matt has been associated with include bridge replacements, mill and overlays, culvert lining and ADA upgrades.

Brua received his B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering from South Dakota University.
