HR Green Receives 2017 ACEC-IL Special Achievement Award for Engineering
(Chicago, IL) HR Green, Inc. (HR Green), a national engineering and technical consulting firm, has received a Special Achievement Award from the American Council on Engineering of Illinois (ACEC-IL) for its work on the City of Marengo Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) upgrade. The award recognizes projects that have demonstrated excellence in engineering and client partnership, have benefited the public and elevated the practice of engineering.
As a result of this collaboration, the firm designed a revised engineering approach that addressed all of the community’s social, economic and sustainable design considerations. To ensure smooth operations going forward, HR Green also played a critical role in bringing the City’s WWTP staff up to speed on the new technology and processes.
The newer technologies and recommended processes allowed the new WWTP to be constructed in a way that allowed modular expansion in the future.
“We are proud to be able to extend our longstanding relationship with the City of Marengo and be able to partner with them again and help them accomplish their short- and long-term goals. ” said Timothy J. Hartnett, HR Green Principal/Vice President, Practice Leader- Governmental Services – Midwest.
Each year, the ACEC-IL Engineering Excellence Awards Competition recognizes projects of engineering achievement by Illinois consulting engineering firms. ACEC-IL is the only statewide association dedicated solely to the interests of consulting engineering firms. Entries are judged on the basis of engineering excellence, the degree to which the client’s needs are met, and the benefits to the public welfare and private practice of engineering.
