HR Green appoints Steven Heyer as interim CEO
HR Green announced that its Board of Directors has named Steven R. Heyer, PE, LEED AP to serve as the company’s Chief Executive Officer on an interim basis. The designation of Heyer as interim CEO ensures the continuity of services and operations while the Board of Directors undertakes its search for the company’s next Chief Executive Officer.
Heyer, a 34 year employee of HR Green, has held key leadership positions throughout the company, most recently serving as the President of its Senior Living Business Line and GCI Development, LLC. Heyer is based at the corporation’s headquarters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Throughout his career, Heyer’s creative energy has been instrumental for HR Green. Heyer has been involved with a wide array of project types throughout his tenure including airports, commercial buildings, correctional facilities, educational facilities, Federal buildings, industrial buildings and structures, libraries, medical facilities, water and wastewater treatment plants, city halls and law enforcement facilities.
Dan McVay, Chairman of the Board, is pleased that Heyer has agreed to serve as the interim CEO. Mr. McVay indicated that the Board selected Heyer based on his seasoned leadership qualities, relationship with the company and its clients, and experience in the development and launch of prosperous business ventures for the company.
“The Board was most interested in appointing someone as CEO who can execute on the strategic plan seamlessly and fully support the existing business model,” said McVay. “The Board established the qualities of leadership that we felt were necessary to drive a company as diverse as HR Green to achieve its goals. There was no question that Steve instilled a great sense of confidence in us as the strongest contender to lead on an interim basis.”
Heyer said, “I am humbled and excited at being asked by the Board to lead the extremely talented team at HR Green in a positive direction. I have the utmost confidence in the capabilities and determination of the people of this company, and I look forward to engaging with them and our clients during this important time in our history. This is an awesome responsibility and I am committed to the ongoing success of HR Green.”
Heyer will assume his role effective immediately. He succeeds Michael G. Daniel, CPA who had been Chief Executive Officer since 2009
