Harrisburg and HR Green Receive Merit Award
Sioux Falls, SD – The South Dakota chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) has honored the City of Harrisburg and HR Green, Inc. with its Engineering Excellence Awards program. The chapter recognized Harrisburg and HR Green with an ACEC Merit Award in the Water/Wastewater category for the recent Lift Station and Force Main Project, which conveys wastewater from Harrisburg to Sioux Falls for treatment.
The City of Harrisburg has experienced tremendous growth in recent years, tripling its population in a six-year period. Such success has also brought its challenges, straining the City’s wastewater treatment and disposal facilities. HR Green helped the City evaluate several alternatives before selecting the regionalized approach of pumping to Sioux Falls. Additionally, the firm completed an implementation plan that helped the City to fund and schedule the project.
Originally founded in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1913 by Howard R. Green, HR Green now has offices throughout the United States. HR Green provides a wide range of engineering and technical services to clients in the following markets: Transportation, Water, Governmental Services, Land Development, Energy and Construction.
