City of Newton, IA Infrastructure Improvements
for Iowa Speedway

The IndyCar® Series made its first visit to Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa, for a race at the new “Rusty Wallace Signature Series Track” in June 2007. Located near Newton, Iowa – 30 minutes east of Des Moines – Iowa Speedway is located along Interstate 80 adjacent to Newton Airport. The track was built by the U.S. Motorsport Corporation. The “Rusty Wallace Signature Series Track” has a seating capacity of 40,000. Howard R. Green Company worked with both the track developer and the City of Newton to provide planning and design services for infrastructure improvements and facility development associated with construction of the Iowa Speedway.
