I-29 Interstate Improvements in Iowa
City of Sioux City, Iowa/Iowa DOT

As a result of high accident rates and increased delays, the Iowa DOT, SIMPCO, and City of Sioux City initiated a study of the local interstate system due to a pressing need to upgrade the roadway to the current standards and demands. The study divided 10 miles of I-29 into segments, analyzed deficiencies of each segment, prepared alternatives for improvements, and prioritized each segment. Howard R. Green Company (HR Green) has played a central role in the design and construction of proposed improvements in this corridor. Projects completed or in progress include:

Services Included:
Reconstruction of the Sioux Gateway Airport/Sergeant Bluff Interchange
Reconstruction of the Hamilton Boulevard Interchange
Improvements through Sioux City’s central business district
Services include preparation of an Environmental Impact Study (EIS) for the corridor, conceptual, functional, and CAN-DO design for selected alternatives and development of Interchange Justification Reports.
